WeVideo presents a very strong cloud-based consumer video editing solution. Upload video clips to the service, then edit the videos by yourself, or with others as part of a social platform. The video editor features all the basics you’d expect: timelines, the ability to add multiple audio tracks, and voiceovers. What impressed me was how quickly it worked. Users initially work with low-resolution versions of the video, and when it’s time to render the final product, WeVideo divides the work among many servers using Amazon Web Services.

The consumer version is free but watermarked, allowing uploads to WeVideo, YouTube, or Vimeo. The company offers deluxe versions for a monthly fee.
